So I got the letter this morning; HM Courts & Tribunals Service require my services next month. Fabulous.
I'm going to print off the contents of "Roobarb's Room", hand it to the court clerk and scream "VOTE JUSTICE!!" in his face.
Hoping to be home by lunchtime.

Is it "summoned" or "summonsed"? Details might be quite important for that poor fucker when I'm on his/her case

Never had to do this but I wonder if my 3 appearances at the magistrates court rule me out? They were all driving offences though.

The romance of jury duty. The chance to re-enact the classic 12 Angry Men. The tension of a court room drama.
In my experience the reality is mind numbing tedium, listening to the dregs of society bore the tits off you with every detail of how she accidentally stabbed her double crossing mutant pal who was smacked out of her face and barely comprehensible to the judge. Day 2 after a break for lunch we were informed that we were dismissed as the accused had done a runner and a new jury would need to be chosen once they found the mutant smackhead.
Cost to the taxpayer, thousands.
Cost to me in lost wages, over a hundred.
If asked again i would find a reason, any reason to get out of it.
