Logan Paul threw some punches for 2 rounds then leant on Mayweather when possible from what I read just now. Enthralling.
I guess the insult to real boxers is how much these guys are getting paid.

No, and I don't think Mayweather is doing his legacy any favours. Not wanting to see anyone get hurt but I wouldn't be upset if either of the Paul brothers got a right good pasting from a 'Pro boxer.

Well Jake Paul is fighting Tyrone Woodley who should in theory knock his block off as he's got plenty of UFC KOs.

Its terrible as a concept.
But if inspires someone to take it up and make a better life for themselves, that is okay.

It's all arse around backwards. You get famous then take up fighting. So you've kind of already made it before the fighting part.

Logan Paul is Cruiserweight so stick him in with one...not an ex-football/basketball/fellow Youtuber...at least the other guy will make a bundle.

It's not boxing. It is in this case a 'celebrity' getting into a boxing ring with an ex boxer and charging the gullible for the privilege to watch this charade. Exhibitions like this have been going on for centuries. People will always pay for a freak show. The brother fighting the MMA fighter is a bit different. It's someone with little boxing skill but fighting as a professional, boxing a professional MMA fighter under boxing rules. If this Jake Paul wins and continues to up his opposition, at some point he will end up being over matched and will likely get seriously hurt. I've seen a few interviews of recently retired boxers who were world champions or good national champions saying that they would entertain a comeback against a youtuber for PPV money. Imagine this scenario, Logan Paul decides he just went the distance with Mayweather in an exhibition bout so maybe he should have another professional fight. He is currently 0-1 as a pro but that came against the equally useless KSI youtuber. He mouths off to Tony Bellew and the Bomber agrees to a fight. Even though Bellew has been retired for over two years now, he would likely brutally KO Logan inside the first round.
Some people would be happy to see that happen but not me. It's a bit of a cliche nowadays but you don't play boxing. These youtubers think all it takes is to get in shape and do some pads with a boxing coach. Most pro boxers have been doing boxing since they were kids. An area champion level boxer in the UK would have a massive advantage over one of these fools let alone an ex world champion.
I actually think it could be worse though. If one of these youtubers decides to challenge an ex professional MMA fighter to a bout in the cage under MMA rules, we will likely see a brutal KO almost every time unless the MMA guy takes pity and just chokes them out.
Sadly someone is going to end up with life changing injuries sooner or later if this becomes a trend.

I've hardly got my finger on the pulse of celebrity culture but I've no idea who these Paul cunts are or what they do.
Quite a large payday though and that's really the point of this. Generate enough interest in a pointless event and get cunts to part with their cash to watch it.
I didn't watch it, having zero fucking interest but I bet it was shite.

I guess that part that grinds my gears the most is not the actual fighting but the money and it's a slap in the face to those who've lived boxing as a career.
A guy I work has nephews who started boxing as kids. They are very handy and will probably spark out most fools on the cobbles but even they stopped fairly early on as it got more serious. They realised (a bit like amateur racing) how far up the skill tree the really good people are. Maybe Jake Paul could have done something if he'd taken it up at 13 or something.
I will still fight James Corden though. For free.

Fair point but as Droog says, it's not a boxing match, it's a freak show and I dare say that we'd all have stepped in that ring for £20m. You could argue that Mayweather is the real villain here. He could have shown some integrity and refused to have any part in this charade but I suppose he could also have found some use for a massive wad of cash.

Mayweather has never had any integrity. Ultra talented and learned to play the heel to maximise interest in his bouts later in his career. It wasn't too long ago he was saying that he wouldn't get out of bed for less than 100 million. Now he is 'fighting' exhibitions for around 30 million. It is still a ton of money but the fool is burning through cash at an alarming rate. Spending money like water and funding his 'crew' of parasites so he can play at being important. Lot's of talk for years in the industry that he will go broke within ten years of retiring. I don't see him ever being so poor that he ends up homeless though. He might be thick but he understands boxing at every level. Someone will employ him as a coach or trainer when his money is gone.
