Considering I am fed up of the Rea win streak and last year especially wanted to see him beaten by Redding, for some perverse reason, I have decided I'd like to see him do it again in 2021. Fuck knows why. I still see it being a battle between Rea and the Ducati factory riders though. HRC Honda could prove to be the package to be on but I think they will have to hit the ground running this year. No good coming on strong mid-season when you have a racer like Rea on the proven factory Kawasaki to beat. BMW will up their game but I see the Yamaha riders and Lowes on the other factory Kawasaki dropping off form from last year.

I think HRC fucked up leaving Haslam on the bike. I think it may have been an ok choice last year but they need a higher talent level on it as 2nd rider. They should have offered Crutchlow some wonga.
It would be even more perverse if Yamaha started to kick arse. I wonder if Rea has that moaning angle covered? Probably been putting all his excuses in the Ducati basket.
I finished Rea's autobiography and it was boring as fuck in the most part. No dirt, no controversy, only a bit of dig at Sykes. The only really interesting bit was him explaining the different style a motogp bike needs due to the tyre differences.

I honestly think Crutchlow was done as a racer last year. He was offered the HRC WSB gig but turned it down according to the waffle on various media sites. In his prime a better and faster racer than Rea. But maybe MotoGP ages you as a rider quicker than a career in WSB does. If Crutchlow had gone WSB this year, he would have done very little results wise. Probably going to be another long wait until any British rider takes a win at the top level.

Ducati's last title was 2011 with Checa. They have won 17 out of 33 years.
I dont think anyone has the consistency to beat Rea this year, as per recent years.

I am one of those people who struggle to see past the status quo so I don't think that the Hondas will be up to much again this year.

I confess that it was Marquez who got me back into WSB... I kind of gave up on Supers because of Rea's dominance and the total predictability of the championship, and indeed most of the races. But then I realised that if I was watching Marc wipe the floor with the reat of the field week in, week out, why shouldn't I watch Rea do the same. And it is entertaining despite being predictable. I have learned to watch the racing in a different way.
And there are a lot of parallels to be drawn I think, I mean, if Rea suddenly got injured or banned or whatever, we would probably see a far greater number of winners over the course of the season, Bautistsa, Redding, Toprack, Gerloff, Sykes ?? just like we saw last year and to a certain extent we are still seing now in GPs.
So unless someting unfortunate happens, it's difficult to see past Rea. I think Kawasaki are less likely to ram a stick in their own spokes in WSB than HRC are in GPs.
