2mm !, that's asking for trouble, You'd think they would have the sense to make pistons identical sized to lessen the risk of mistakes, obviously unless there was a good difference in size. I'm sure there's a good reason for it (the larger pistons are at the top of the caliper?) but I can't figure out why the sizes would be different but so close.

Test ride done and, as you might expect, the improvement is massive. No more shuddering forks under braking and the brakes now making that reassuring hiss that you get with new bikes.
The only slight negative is that I've not quite got that rock solid feeling at the lever that I was expecting but I'll give the pads and discs time to bed before I go bleeding it again. I've checked for leaks and it's all good.

That's a pisser when you've bled to fuck and the lever still isn't quite there. Had the same on the ktm, still works ok but I prefer instant resistance on the bike. My mates new ktm is bang on and my now my reference point for feel.
I'd not used the rear brake on the sv until the other day when I realised it didn't work at all.... Original fluid must have been toast as after about 4 reservoirs worth of fluid bleeding it started to firm up.
May get some speed bleeders, got them on the car and they save a lot of fucking about.
