Trawling ebay I forgot how much I liked the look of these bastards. Evil looking as fuck, I'd imagine if you rock up being a car it says "fuck off or I'll kick your teeth in".
Not sure if they were actually any good or not? The ZXR750 is now starting to go for decent money and I'm wonder if these will be next. As I say I always fancied one but can't remember if they're too fat and lardy or were just a reskinned ZXR750. There's a nut and bolt rebuild one in red on ebay for £2700.
All I can remember is Fast Bikes testing them on the videos but their version if testing usually involved falling off or just doing wheelies.

A mate of mine has got one in black, he loves it. Looks like Darth Vader on wheels.
I reckon you're right that you won't lose much money if you don't wreck it. Expect brakes and suspension to be tired, engines last for centuries though.

I always liked the look of these, especially the front end with the flared intakes, but I just missed the big air pipes from the ZXR750

They are hard as fuck. Suspension only really starts working above 100mph. Remember JR of PB messing about with shock linkages on them.

Been doing some reading up and there seems to an expensive problem the carbs develop as you can't replace the emulsion tubes and have to buy new carbs. Maybe fuel injection is the way to go with any future purchase. I always hated carbs, needles, float bowls, it was always a bit of a black art.

I always liked the endurance air ducts going into the top of the tank....YZF750, another one that still looks good..as long as it's not any 80's shell suit paint scheme....red, white and black only.

There's a mint FZR600 on Gumtree and I mean MINT for £2700.....the downside......shellsuit or cocktail colours of black, purple, pink, orange.

I'd buy a ZX7R over an FZR600 any day of the week.

Being around 25 years old I doubt that would apply any more anyway. You're gonna have to put a new shock and rebuild the forks to make any sports bike that old rideable. Mr. Damping? Oh he checked out in 2008. When I took my GSXR to Jarama the shortcomings against newer bikes were so clearly in the suspension department above and beyond engine and braking (although a bit of brake fettling is required), and my bike is 10 years newer than a ZX.

Red really isn't their best colour.
Black on black or green with purple seat and white number boards. Nice.

Are talking about the H or J/K models (the K being the SP version with flatslide carbs)?

I like the ZX7R, ZXR750 are going for silly money for nice ones (well not silly but it would a shame for me to crash it).
Easy option of bike for the money seems to be Firestorm. Seen half decent ones going for £1500. Bargain. That and going full circle to a VFR800 or something.
