Anyone ever ridden one? For some reason I have the urge for a cruiser type thing as 2nd bike. Not full on Virago or Harley gayness but more 'roadster' or whatever it is. They seem quite cheap used (less than 4k) and seem to sound good with aftermarket pipes on.

Sorry mate I haven't. But for me, if I was going down that route, then I would rather be hung for a sheep as a lamb and get a bobber of some description. Although I would stop just short of wearing a nazi stormtrooper lid, getting a black widder tattoo on my gut and saying things like "Philo Beddow is a dead man"

I haven't, but a small dealer in Bournemouth always stocked a few and I lusted after them for a while. The Sport was my preference over the standard one.
Some were blinged up with all sorts of shitty colour coordinated bits and pieces but the ones like this were the lookers.

That sounds nice.

Sport was always the better option. Single disc on the standard Thunderbird was a bit iffy for a bike of that weight. Plus the later bikes had the Gill ignition so less likely to shag the sprag clutch if the battery was less than 100%. Hold their price, a half decent Sport goes for around £5K

So avoid something for 3k then? For less than 5k I've seen nearly new Enfield 650s.

As with everything it depends on condition, a €3k one owner bike could be way better than a £5k shiner (my mates word for cosmetically tarted up classic cars)
