I know there are some folks on here that know their stuff, and I know fuck all about the MMA side in particular. So the question is, what the fuck is going to happen in this fight?

Some undeserved twats will get very rich, punters will get ripped off and the value of boxing as a proper sport will go down the drain. Just my opinion like...

Its a boxing contest so Mayweather has to be massively odds on.
The bookies fancy Mayweather heavily too, a couple of weeks ago you could get minimum odds of 22-1 for Mc Gregor to win around rounds 4 to 7, and something like double that to win anywhere else.
Personally I couldn't give a stuff who wins, they're both gobshites.

Mayweathers last 20 opponents would have beaten McGregor with ease, says it all. Its a great pantomime though.

The only thing that's on Mcgregors side is the fact that he can take some very hard hits indeed, and that he also is an excellent puncher. As for the technique required to apply that in a ring against Mayweather? Well, the jury is out for me...Fuck paying for it though.

Ah OK, so it's a bit of a money making machine then, cheers. Fair enough I suppose as it certainly seems to be doing that! The American ppv prices are bonkers. I think it's safe to say that stream will be pretty well up on google's search results that night

To put it into perspective, it is like a decent pub football team taking on Real Madrid. Ignore any talk of he has a punchers chance. If it was an MMA contest or a fight on the cobbles, McGregor would ice Mayweather inside ten seconds. But it is a boxing contest and skills pay the bills. Mayweather might be a thicko who can't read or write but he is a boxing defensive genius. McGregor will be made to look foolish and it will be a scrappy and very untidy bout. I'm hoping McGregor loses his cool and kicks Mayweather in the head and then chokes him out. Only reason I'm going to watch.

I wouldn't be surprised if it is a boring fight. Mayweather is a spoiler and defensive genius, I know nothing about MMA but McGregor has a really wide counter punchers stance. I just see it being a stand off until the first time McGregor commits then it could be over for him.

Shit man, what a lengthy build up. A week to go, even though it has felt like a week to go for ages.
The Irish fella is one hell of an athlete it must be said.

McGregor did better than I expected....but his stamina went towards the end. Mayweather didn't look much like he'd been in a fight afterwards.... From nothing a few years ago, McGregor is now a very wealthy man.....fair play to him.

McGregor didn't embarrass himself but Mayweather was treating that like a glorified spar session. I stayed up and watched it and I thought it was good entertainment. Both earned a fortune. I'd pay to see a rematch in the octagon

I'd pay to see a rematch in the octagon I'd agree with that, Ive never seen Mayweather with such a high guard dipping into the action. He normally uses his shoulder and leans out looking for openings, he just didn't seem at all concerned about what McGregor brought. I was tempted to pay for the Cotto and Cleverly fights, Ive just read Cleverly has retired.
