More shocking to me is the R6 is no longer available as a road bike.

It seems 650 twins at about 100hp are the thing.

I was just thinking more going forward to the new '600' racing rules. Seems like the online 4 is dead so these are the new supersport.
The trouble with saying any road bike is shit is that they probably aren't really. It won't make a jot of difference to most apart from journos who diet on a massive range of bikes. I'd probably get on the Aprilia and think it was top bollocks. I remember getting of the cbr400 onto a 1p year old zx6r and thinking it was awesome.

I still think you could jump on a well looked after standard flagship 1000cc bike from 15 years ago and match a 2020 model equivalent in every aspect on the road or track if you are anything but a professional racer.

Being totally candid, I should get a gash bike then at least I would have something to blame my slow riding on.

Right for 99% of people. The one thing the KTM did do is make me realise how much of my VFR speed was simply large amounts of thrust in a straight line. Perversely I still fancy a VFR800 with decent cans on after watching a few videos and them howling. Pity it's hard to drop 30kg off the fat cunt. You'd think it would be easy but no really without making it into a track bike.
