Anyone else feel (like me) that Chaz is being a bit over dramatic with the hurt feelings act? It would be natural to be pissed off and feel that you've been replaced even though you still did a good job and have been loyal but nothing lasts forever.
Personally I think Rinaldi will struggle to match third in the standings next year whilst I think Chaz would maybe still be third but a bit closer to first than this year. But he has been in the team for seven years and maybe everyone else concerned is of the opinion that Chaz is never going to win the title so maybe it is time to give a younger rider a chance. Be cheaper too.
I can't help feeling maybe Chaz should have took it on the chin and gone looking for the best ride available and done his talking with some results. It's not like Ducati are going to change their mind. They may even start harbouring a little resentment towards him if he continues to whine.
Not impossible for Chaz to land a decent B team ride with Ten Kate or this satellite BMW team for 2021, score some good results whilst Rinaldi has a disaster and find himself back on the Duke with his old team in 2022.Who knows? Seen plenty of strange things happen in racing over the years.
Personally if I was Chaz, I'd take the BMW option if possible. Not hard to imagine that he could be top BMW rider and get promoted to the full factory team. I can't see Sykes or VDM doing a lot next year.

Chaz has had fair crack of the whip on a Ducati. He should have pressed reset before the season got going so he didn't get left in the cold.
Last year he sealed his own fate by saying something about if Bautista made everyone look shit then I guess wsb isn't motogp level. No shit. Guess what happened next. Beating Rea by 20s at PI was a slap in all the WSB boys faces.

Whilst he has had a few decent races, he has underperformed to me overall and it is the most 'result driven' business out there.
A change has to be best for both.

I also think it is a sign of the times. 3rd in a top tier world championship used to be a prestigious achievement that teams / manufacturers were proud of and prepared to invest in.
Now the money is scarce and unless you're going to win you're always on the edge of being pushed out for someone who brings better sponsors or more cash and even that isn't a guarantee, look at Abraham and Rabat. 3rd means diddly squat.
Younger riders will always know this as the way it is, but for riders like Chaz who come from "before" may have trouble accepting this new reality it seems.
I'm not saying it is right or fair by the way, but you have to see it like the business that it is. Rinaldi may come in 6th next year rather than 3rd, but if he costs 70% less than Davies...

I agree with Droog with respect to his age and giving a younger rider a crack at Ducati. He hasn't finished lower than 9th since joining the class and no lower than 6th in a factory team, so he would be a very inviting prospect for a satellite team.

Is Chaz the future? That's a no. The Fabio effect is strong at the moment, look at the FB factory Ducati signing. Overall his results are shit but it seems young chargers are in.
I still think Redding will win WSB because he's relatively young and clearly at Rea's level. If anything Rea will peak and Redding will take the torch. Rea has kind of shown Alex Lowes' level. The only real wildcard in talent is Toprak but he's hot and cold.
A lot of long timers in WSB and it would do with a clear out but unlike the 90s I don't imagine anyone wants to end up in WSB.

Personally I think age should have fuck all to do with it. Bayliss was still on it in his late thirties at least and remember Mekon your hero Max was a good age when he won it.

I'm not hiring, but it is changing. The age of motogp entrance has lowered over the last decades. Just the way it is.
You can't compare Biaggi to Chaz Davies, World of talent difference like him or not.

I'm not comparing Chaz with Max Clearly Chaz has more hair than Max My point is that age shouldn't be an issue when hiring riders. Hopefully Chaz manages to stay in WSB, i still rate him.
