Dillian Whyte has been acting like a prick for a few years now. One of Eddie Hearn's greatest tricks outside of making people think Anthony Joshua is the greatest heavyweight ever, is simultaneously making people think Dillian has been hard-done-by by the WBC and that he has faced a murderers row of opponents in the meantime. Whyte has turned down opportunities to fight for a world title (Joshua rematch) and also turned down final eliminators (Ortiz) which left him out in the cold for a long time with the WBC. The reason being he wanted big money for PPV fights against lesser opposition. By lesser I mean not Fury, Joshua, Wilder or Ortiz. Whyte made plenty of noise about fighting them but remained happy to get PPV cash in less risky fights.
Dumped his trainer recently in a shitty fashion and showed disrespect to latest opponent Povetkin, knowing that Sasha was going on 41 and a few years past his best. The thing is that Povetkin was a skilled amateur and probably one of the top professional boxers in the HW division of the last 12 years or so. Yes he was a faded force and had been for a few years but he still has class and power.
Glad he totally derailed Whyte on Saturday and sent him way back in the queue for title honours. It's a sad state of affairs when two of the biggest dickheads in boxing are British. Whyte and Saunders.
Before anyone mentions Povetkins shady performance enhancing drug past, Whyte is a convicted drug cheat and it's no secret he was out in Portugal training for the past four months so he could be roided to the gills. No coincidence that former David Haye strength and conditioning 'coach' was in camp all that time with Whyte.
