www.bikesportnews.com/news/news-detail/james-whitham-irwins-and-the-honda-are-the-weekends-main-eventWhit's take on the weekend. Maybe he hasn't got around to watching MotoGP yet, or is just writing about superbikes. Winning BSB twice and 3 2nds and a superstock win on a debut for a new bike is impressive. As he mentioned, the control ECU is a key. When Honda announced the new Fireblade I dont think anyone was drooling over it. It looked more or less the same as the old one visually, a bit of fancy aero stuff and crazy peak torque RPM figures. Same torque as the R1 but 1000rpm higher. the Donington short circuit is a free flowing circuit. The final chicane is fairly slow, but not as slow as if they had used the longer circuit with the Melbourne Loop and Goddards. So easier to keep the revs up? Lets see how it does at the next round, Snetterton. There are more low speed corners there. www.msvracing.com/media/4476/2020-mcrcb-yearbook-120320.pdf The ECU will have a fixed rev limit acting at 750rpm above standard street
limit with an absolute maximum of 16,000rpm, as prescribed by the

The 2020 MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship is getting closer to kicking-off Down Under at Phillip Island, with five manufacturers ready to duel throughout the season. As in recent seasons, the performance balancing algorithm has been used to determine the Revolutions Per Minute (RPM) of each of the five manufacturers and their respected models. The performances are based on the final three rounds of the 2019 season.
Please find below the RPM limits for the 2020 WorldSBK manufacturers:
Kawasaki: 14600
Ducati V4: 16100
Yamaha 2020: 14950
BMW: 14950
2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R: 15600
The 2020 Honda CBR1000RR-R with its new engine has a limit based on the maximum RPM of the homologated street motorcycle.
With regards to the Yamaha YZF-R1, the limit is based on the performance from the 2019 season.
