I guess it's more realistic than trying to spend hundreds of millions of someone else's money on a new circuit....
But still no.

St Mary's hospital IoW doesn't have a great reputation, but Southampton General 25 miles away by air has an outstanding critical care department. Most of Dorset major trauma casualties are flown there.
I'm not a fan of road racing, but I think it would attract a lot of visitors. Its easier to get there for a larger number of people than IoM.

They like a prison there. Not really a fan of Road Racing anymore so even though it would be easier to do than the TT, I doubt I would bother.

I guess the problem I have with it is no names race anymore. Ok, you can say those that do it year on year are the names but nobody who's on the up on the tracks does it now. 30 years since Foggy and Hislop.
The TT probably peaked years ago and it only repeaked for a bit with the Guy Martin interest and the sudden speed increases the new 1000s brought.
I used to think road racing was the bollox but like Droog I've lost interest. I can appreciate it but I'm not sure its worth my time and effort to see.

If they do run it it wont interfere with the BSB calendar, they can fit in around that.
I always thought it was odd putting BSB on hold whilst very few racers involved in BSB raced at the IoM. 1 BSB event in June like they did sometimes (and 2 in April & October) was madness. Run a Brands event at the same time and I bet it wouldn't affect crowd sizes much at either event.

I've only been to one road race, the NW200. Stayed in a tent on a campsite near Portrush...it was cold, wet and miserable. I'd have been better off staying home watching it on TV.

I would highly recommend the Southern 100 road races in the Isle of Man. It’s mid July and the weather is usually excellent. Proper road racing and a cracking atmosphere. The prize ceremony is held in Castletown and is a worthy piss up. Always gets top entries too. You also need to visit the TT at least once in your life.

I work with a few bods who live on the IoW and they think it is going to come off. I probably wouldn't go because I am- A. Tight and B. Have too much else going on with kids etc
Having said that I would deffo follow it on TV and for me the current competition between Hicky and Dean Harrison is proper edge-of-the-seat stuff.
