Sadly I can't seem to drag the dedication back out of the hat. The problem is family life fucks it up. I can't be selfish and have all my own little separate meals and don't have the time to do 1 hour of exercise day in day out as well as other stuff. Fucking Google classroom has fucked my plans up.
Sold my weights for loads of money though. Couldn't get £60 last year but got £200 as all the gym boys are desperate.

The trick is to keep enjoying it Diego the toe clipper. Being based where you are, you have many options. You can mix your routes up nicely. From memory of watching the Vuelta, there is some nice 'countryside' within reach? I've beaten my body. For a while it tried to trick me out of the morning exercise. This morning I felt surprisingly comfortable.

I'm tobacco free for 5 months thanks to starting cycling after reading you sad cunts blathering on about it . well done ClipClop. Nearly 20 years for me and I struggle to accept that I ever smoked. I might have a few kilos to shift but I'm undoubtedly fitter and healthier now than when I turned 30, despite the waistline. And the moobs.

Well done all.....impressive stuff!.
I’m not doing anything as intense, just walking and cycling...now that I’ve converted the race bike into a straight bar job with traditional pedals I’ve been using it again. Means I can use it for general trips as well without having to wear cleats. Pushups in the garden every other day, trying to vary them...wide then close and slow for total of 50. Lunges and body squats too, lunges are a killer but you get a hell of a burn in the quads. I’ve found that , unless you make a deliberate effort to do stuff, you will spend more time behind your computer , more than when at the Office.
The tan is coming on nicely too (when I say tan I mean a Scottish tan....I’ve got from blue to white with a hint of red).....weather has been amazing, same as last year when we also had a great April/May. The downside is that I’d planned a bike trip to the Ardenne/Eifel for May but that’s been binned.

I was an occasional social smoker until 2000, I couldn’t imagine starting again....the smell of stale tobacco on people is vomit inducing....typical ex smoker me!!

Coming back from the pub stinking of smoke had it's charms even if you didn't smoke. Birds that smoke always lost a point or so though but beggars couldnt be choosers sometimes.

Can you imagine going back to smoking in pubs though?.....Here in NL they resisted for a while, you could smoke in a separate smoking room within a bar....but not as of April.

Just to clarify, I can’t do 50 in one go!!...I wish!...I do it in sets. I could probably knock out 25max in a one-er. I was looking a a picture of myself at my Dads 70th in 2002, I was around 103kg....my face looked like a balloon compared to now...I’m 91kg now (185cm tall), down from 98kg a year ago so gradual weight loss...feel better for it and helps with the blood pressure too, which was borderline hypertension.

When the restrictions get eased up more, I might head out the other way (out of town instead of into the center). The big problem here is the danger because driving standards are pretty poor and riding on roads with mixed traffic in normal circumstances is suicide for cyclists. But I have to say, cycling right through the center of Madrid seeing all the touristy bits without tourists has been pretty cool. I'm glad I did it while I could.

Yeah I've done a couple of rides I wouldn't consider if it wasn't for lockdown. Best one was diverting to Hastings when visiting a colleague. A couple of miles long the seafront in glorious skies was unique for me.

I've been out a fair bit but just not seeing any improvement. My 25 miler along the canal is taking me 2hrs 15min. A few years ago I had it down to 1hr 35min. Just not feeling the motivation to push myself. Might get a GPS unit or even just a speedo. Makes a difference when you've got a big fat number in front of you telling you how fucking slow you're going. Right. I got the finger out tonight and did my route in a coupon bursting 1hr 50min. In mitigation, conditions were pretty perfect. Temp around 16C and not a breath of wind. Despite that, I can't help think I've made a rod for my own back. Tbh, I was resigning myself to old age but I've got a bit of confidence back now. Think I'll celebrate with curry and beer.

I swear something cunts were socially distancing their cars in the petrol station queue today. Usually everyone is up each other's arses but they were queuing into the road for no reason I could see. Being a cunt on my motorbike I just rode to front. Most of the thick cunts couldn't use the pay at pump function either as they were too scared to use the keypad or something.
