DAZN are finally coming to the UK. Been hoping this would happens for ages. I can see them having most of the boxing I want to watch and potentially all of the motorcycle racing inside a year or two. They have a huge wallet and will be buying up rights to various sports left, right and centre. No contract and very reasonable prices. If you are not familiar with them, they are like NetFlix for sports.

DAZN have been the only legal provider of Motogp in Spain since the beginning of last year. They started off at 5€ per month to get people in I suppose, but now it's doubled to 10. It's OK, but not great. Over here they contracted the entire commentary team from Movistar, the previous broadcaster so if you were fed up with them it was tough luck... Luckily for me I think they're OK. The worst thing for me is that you can't start watching from the beginning until it has finished if you know what I mean. You have to either watch live, or wait for the whole day's racing to end and for them to post it up before you can start to watch the recording. Also, and this really pisses me off, is that they put an analysis show on a few hours after the racing has ended and the photo which accompanies it on the listing is a photo of the fucking winners. So if you get in late on a Sunday and accidentally see the "After the flag" link that's it fun over... Mind you knowing that MM wins the main event is hardly a spoiler....

I'm officially no longer a DAZN user.
I decided to end my subscription just before the price increase took effect in April. According to DAZN, their 5€ / month initial price was loss making, just to get the Spanish public onboard with MotoGP. They were counting on getting some money back this year by doubling the price.
I guess I'm probably not the only "Spaniard" to cancel this month. The other sports they carry are pretty obscure for Spain, MotoGP was the flagship and with that gone, I reckon they're going to be in trouble.
I hope I'm wrong, but I can see Dorna having to reinstate Videopass for Spain. I wouldn't be too sad about that TBH.

If anyone is interested in signing up to DAZN then apparently we can get a free month each. I've been doing some beta testing for DAZN for about five months now. They only have boxing in the UK as of now but that will change at some point. If I'm honest I was high on DAZN a year or so ago but now not so much. I've had no issue with their streams whilst testing and their boxing coverage is ok. From what I can gather, they start dirt cheap and then put the prices up as time goes by. But like Netflix you can just cancel no hassle at any time. I'm going to keep them for a bit myself but then I love boxing. Might be worth having a look to see what sports they are planning to grab for the UK market before you give them a try. I'm pretty sure it is £1.99 a month right now.
