Puncture or some big tyre issue for Rea? Brilliant ride from Lowes after being bumped wide at the first turn, deserved his 3rd place. Melandri must have thought so as well to run on the grass coming out of the Loop to gift him the place

Good result for the wild card too with Leon H finishing second.
Hope Rea and Davies make it a more exciting battle for the win today.

Good lord that was a fucking boring load of races. Apart from SS300 everyone won by a country mile.
Sort it out Dorna or sell the series on.

I could be wrong but it isn't Dorna that own it, I think it's their parent company (Bridgepoint is it, can't be arsed to check). I think they bought it and realised they had a Motorcycle management company and shoved it at them. I'm sure I read that Dorna didn't want it but had to run it because their bosses said they had to. Whenever Shakey is a pundit he just repeats that it should just be BSB rules, James Haydon is saying spec ecu. Somebody just do something it's just turning into a waste of petrol now. Truth is I have no idea how good any of these riders really are. Everyone is finishing where their respective bikes dictate. I do think Melandris stealing a living at the minute though.

The SS300 was the best race of the weekend.
Rea 10th to 1st in 1 lap + the s/f straight in R2 was something special. His duff tyre in R1 robbed us of a close finish in that race.
MotoGP & BSB both have spec ECU, why not WSB?

Just caught up on the low definition Quest recording. Wasn't the worst set of races. 14 finishers race 2? Pretty poor that.

I thought the second race was okay with the leader and third placed bloke being closed down, it made for an exciting race end. Sykes has said the stupid reverse grid rule cost him possibly a record 10th straight win and I agree, the top lads get through to the front within a few laps anyway but as in Sykes case that half dozen laps held up while someone gets a flyer ultimately spoils the race and the spectacle for the fans, and it did for Haslam too.
It needs to be changed quickly.

To keep things balanced, the grid rules didn't hold JR back much in Race 2 ;-); he was at least 0.5 seconds quicker that the rest of the field on that first lap and still managed to hit the front by the end of the Start/Finish straight at the start of lap 2.

I see they are looking at sacking off reverse grid at the end of the year. Why is it that these things are so obviously stupid to fans but yet some twats in suits think it'll work out ok. Everything that is wrong with WSB could be remedied by reading a fan forums.
The only reason this shit works for BTCC is the addition of ballast as well and the fact the cars seem more equal compared to the WSB field. You can't end up sticking ballast on the bikes as it could ruin the setups and lead to more accidents. The BTCC lot are well used to ballast and in a car you can at least position it where you want.

If you want a chance of returning to the glory days, make it so that the wild cards can play too.

If you want a chance of returning to the glory days, make it so that the wild cards can play too. Standardise Superbike rules around the world; how hard would it be to get the major championship organisers around the table and thrash this out? Higgs already advises on and oversees races direction outside of BSB (MotoGP and WEB),so it's hardly a stretch.
