I don't care what their spec sheet says, that is an evolution of a very old and tired design. There is fuck all ground breaking about that bike. I'm seeing the same frame spars and engine cases as what was on the 2008 bike. I'm sure they are major modifications and I understand the shock top mount is now attached to the engine rather than the frame, but Bautista is fucked. What Honda needed was a complete ground up new design.

More power, improved aerodynamics with wings, dull red paint (hopefully thats just the photo and not real life), better looking can than a lot of older Blades. On paper it should beat the other inline 4s, seems powerful, but the Ducati has more cc and revs a bit lower so more usable. 14,500 rpm for peak power, 12,500 rpm for peak torque seems very high for a road bike. How will HRC get more out of it from that starting point? www.bennetts.co.uk/bikesocial/news-and-views/news/2019/november/new-honda-fireblade-2020-cbr1000rrr

Will be fast as fuck with those orange reflectors off a Raleigh Budgie on.
Why do all modern bikes look like something out of a Transformers movie. I think the looks of bikes peaked about 2010, now we're just into odd angles and shit. It's not like it's even dictated by safety regs like cars, which have to be able to bounce a ped off the front end and other shit.

It’s an improvement over the previous incarnations, I quite like it....and hopefully it’ll be a good base for Bautista and Haslam.

If it produces its torque at a giddy rev height its going to take some work to make it rideable across the variety of circuits.
I think there is a rev limit, not sure what and how close it is to that limit already.

BSB rev limits:
The ECU will have a fixed rev limit acting at 750rpm above standard street limit with an absolute maximum of 16,000rpm, as prescribed by the MCRCB/MSVR. 2019 BENNETTS BRITISH SUPERBIKE - REV LIMITS BMW S1000RR (2018) 14,200 +750 14,950 BMW S1000RR (2019) K67 14,600 +750 15,350 Honda CBR 1000 RR/SP2 13,800 +750 14,550 Kawasaki ZX10RR (2018) 13,500 +750 14,250 Kawasaki ZX10RR (2019) 14,100 +750 14,850 Suzuki GSXR 1000 R/L7 14,500 +750 15,250 Yamaha YZF – R1/R1M 14,500 +750 15,250 Ducati 1199 Panigale R 12,000 +750 12,750 Ducati Panigale V4R 16,000 +0 16,000
So is the Honda in WSB helped more by having a larger rev limit compared to the Kwak, and hindered in BSB by just having a fixes +750 regulation? Maybe the Honda cant rev that high and be usable anyway. In BSB it could mean that the new Honda is more competitive than it is now.
Although it would be the spread of power which is more important than absolute numbers.

Those power figures will be important for racing but will mean absolutely fuck all on the road. I can't get anywhere near my bike's (alleged) 178bhp so fuck knows what use 215 will be. It's designed to win Superbike racing and to give tiny cocked gentlemen something to boast about.
Still, wouldn't mind a test ride...

If the power to cock size thing holds true then mine has been shrinking for 25 years. Probably best though as I used it more in my youth.
