The front discs on my GSX-R750 need replacing and I was wondering what advantage I would gain using a set of wavy's over the OE. EBC do some of the former for an extra £10 per disc.

EBC wavies are more expensive than OEM?
OEM all the way for me in that case.

It's only £10 more per disc for a wavies, but I've not read anything conclusive to say that they're any better than OE replacements. If every review said that they were 10x better than standards, then I'd spend the extra; but they're not, so I'm going with OE's.

My logic is that if they are so much better, factories would fit them on all high end bikes. But they don't. Racers would use them, but they don't. Anyway wavies look gay, sorry.

Insurance companies say gay as well. If you dont tell them and you claim, expect short intake of breaths and tut tut, non standard brake parts etc etc from some of them.

I've informed my insurance company every time that I've added something to the GSX-R including tinted screen, tank pad, R&G crash protection, rearhugger etc; basically anything that's non-standard or OE. I'm not sure if you need to go as far as brake pads, discs, chains, sprockets etc as long as they're a like-for-like replacement.
