I don't think he's alien standard as few are but when people kept saying that stuff like Knockhill would be his undoing it was all a bit much considering he'd been racing the world's best since he was 14 or 15.
The problem he had during his last couple of years in GP was his team mate was faster so it's hard to completely blame the bike when someone else is still getting more out of it. Must be hard to stay motivated to ride a shed, so I guess we are seeing Redding more as he was in Moto2 when wins were actually a possibility. This is where Bradley Smith annoys me as he's hanging onto that motogp status by any means possibly as he clearly doesn't want to race (forget motoE) in any other championship, whereas Redding is stepping down to step up again.
I wonder if Bird is ready to swoop for Haslam as Rabat is rumoured to be with Rea next year.
