I guess you are right, when you are young politics doesn't factor into things much, thats why they didnt bother to vote.

It's pointless making "when I were a lad" comparisons because the world is a very different place now.
Smart phones were once a luxury, now you need one just to claim jobseekers allowance.
In real terms it costs 5x as much to go for a pint as it did when I started drinking.
Petrol has pretty much doubled in real terms since then. In fact car ownership in general is out of the reach of the low paid and public transport costs a lot more.
Rent is very expensive and for a lot of young people, a mortgage will never happen.
Life in general costs a lot more than it did in the 80s. It's not that folk aren't prepared to work for low pay, they're just not prepared to knock their cunt in all week and have fuck all to show for it after they've paid their rent and leccy and I don't think that's unreasonable.
And not every cunt can "just get dad to pay" for stuff because a lot of dads have fuck all too.
This is the problem with large scale capitalism. It moves away from being a provider of employment into being an exploiter of labour.

The biggest shitheels are the 'gig' employers. Which seems to be a lot of them. Basically instead of being told to be in 9-5 or whatever you now have to be available whenever with no guarantee of anything at all. Technology has allowed more 'just in time' style employment. Apart from Apocalyse Now in 4k and VR driving I don't think I'd miss that much if it all went away.

Couldn't be fucked starting a new thread so I'll stick this in here. If you live in England then your medical records are about to be shared with private companies for 'research'. They are supposed to be anonymised however campaigners claim that it will be easy for companies to get round this by cross-referencing with other databases. The government of openness and honesty hasn't publicised this and for the life of me I can't figure out why they would sneak this in under cover of a pandemic and Brexit without telling every cunt. Can you? You can opt out but it's a fucking ballache and you have until the 23rd of June to do so. medconfidential.org/how-to-opt-out/

So, we've apparently agreed the terms of a free trade deal with Australia. That's right, the furthest away country on the planet.
Take that Brussels, you shower of nearby wankers!

The UK farmers are going to be over the fucking moon with that news. Since coal went out window Australia's main export is cheap meat and call me mister sceptical but I'm struggling to think of products we can export to Oz that will bring in a fraction of the numbers we sent to the EU.

Well here's to actually reading the packaging and seeing where you product is from? Just don't buy Australian meat. Sounds like they pump the animals full of shit like the Americans as well.

Expanding free trade between countries on the other side of the world when people should be reducing the food mileage? I can buy a decent English white wine in my local Coop, I dont need to buy Southern Hemisphere wine. Doesn't Europe produce enough wine, biscuits, meat etc. Easy to avoid it in the shops, but check in pubs, restaurants, etc.

The EU is pursuing Free Trade Agreement with Australia, so everyone in the EU will be able to enjoy biscuits and wine, we just get to sample it sooner

Doesn't Europe produce enough wine, biscuits, meat etc. If only there was some sort of European free trade consortium we could join...
