Kyle has put on Facebook tonight that he's chose to stop racing as he's not enjoying it any more so he's wasting his team and his parents money.
its a shame that he feels this way at 21 years old. A couple of wrong career choices (in hindsight) really seem to have fucked his career. Five years ago I thought he was the brightest prospect that Britain had had for years, him and Bradley Ray were head and shoulders above the other young riders. Kyle took a risk to go to WSS and it backfired, whereas Brad stayed in the UK and now seems to be on the threshold of a wsbk ride for 2019.
Hopefully he can get his head straight and come back next year but God knows where he'd get a ride now.

Agreed. Recall him in the Grant Racing camp at Brands a fair few years back too.

Seen similar happen before countless times over the years. Usually it is lack of money or dedication. Sadly it seems here like he has just lost the spark for racing. Personally I don't think they made any bad choices but things just have not worked out for the lad. It might not be popular but if I was him, I would try and get a ride in the world endurance championship. Plenty of track time and the level is just right for someone of his current ability to gain some confidence.

As Droog says, racing is 95% bad luck stories 5% success, whatever the reasons. Even when you've almost made it the very top you can still drop off like Poggiali. What happened there? One minute a champion, next barely in the points then nothing.
When you look at reasons to actually race, the only real thing keeping 95% of people there is the racing, as there's no money to be made at it. Once you're not loving the racing, you may as well go or get hurt for basically nothing.

I can remember Dennis Hobbs giving Cal Sykes Laverty etc all the problems they could handle back in British SS. then he met a girl and opted for a quieter life, I've often wondered if he would have had the momentum to keep progressing.

Well Kyle wasn't too shabby at Brands today.
