Started back on a bike this week since the weather has been decent, plus I need to keep the mileage down in my car...Christ Im not bike fit at all...Loads of aches at the end of the week, but Ive loved being back on a bike again. Bike of choice is just a shitty MZ Baghira (don't want to take anything nice from work as I don't want to rack up the miles). Came in part exchange and it owes me barely nowt so makes sense. Cracking engine to be fair and it wheelies well. Petrol tank the size of a thimble though...Don't miss filling up every other fucking day! Plans to jump on a track bike this year. The F3 675 that we're racing is the obvious choice but if I smash it to bits I can't see our racer being too pleased, particularly since he's going well on it. Ill probably be slow as fuck anyway...2 kids now so thats 2 seconds a lap Ive lost isn't it?!

I'm currently resurrecting my old 950sm for the same thing, mainly because my oil-burner is pissing me off so much by going into regen virtually every week every week, it doesn't like town driving. SM's getting a smaller front sprocket, flatter, narrower Renthals and Metzeller Z8's to make it a bit sharper.
I'm looking for some short CE marked boots with proper ankle protection that I can wear at work under smart jeans, which won't leave me looking like robocop. There was a rash of casual riding boots recently but they are all brown or tan in fake distressed leather. Hipster chic was so last year, it leaves me cold. Anyway, I already own a pair of brown brogues, I don't need more. Struggling to find something suitable in black, if the toe box wasn't too chunky for gear changing I'd just buy some Redwing Iron Rangers. Maybe you have seen something that would fit the bill in the trade papers or at a show.

5-s bollox and clean desk policy, can't leave boots under desk and lockers are the other side of the plant, it's a pain in the ass first thing in the morning as it's a pharma plant and a a fair old walk.

Or if the company are cunts and don't let you bring a bag to work, stick on a top box.

I don't see how any company can put obstacles to you wearing protective gear to work and changing when you get there.
Any accident on the way to work is counted as a accident in the workplace so the company has an interest in your safety during the journey. In fact, thinking about it they should pay for your protective equipment!
I'm off to speak to HR to see if they will pay for a full Alpinestar suit, gloves, boots and an Arai! I'll let you lknow what they say....
