Did anyone see this show on BBC last week. It's about getting disabled people back to work and last week's show was about Andy Ibbot whose name I remembered from a few years ago. He ran the California Superbike School but had a stroke in 2011 and hasn't been able to work since.
its worth watching on Catch Up, especially as the other lad featured has really bad Tourette's and there's nothing funnier than watching him shout "coffin dodgers" as he serves a couple of pensioners in the garden centre that gave him a chance of a job.

Ibbott was a Fast Bikes journo years back and a semi decent racer. Did not know he had a stroke. I think he broke his back during his riding career also?

I think he broke his back at Croft. I'm sure they called him Andy Idiot in fast bikes, I enjoyed reading his stuff.

Just watched it, Ibott came across really well I thought. That poor kid with tourettes was brutal, I'd by lying if I said I didn't snigger, but I did feel really sorry for him.

Saw that too, he is a really top bloke. Years ago at Mondello I was practicing and the California Superbike School were setting up for the afternoon, he came over and gave me a few tips. Unfortunately one of them wasn't to take up snooker, I spannered meself the following weekend.

I wonder what happened to a lot of those late 80s/90s/maybe into 2000s journos/rider. I bet Jimmy Miller is dead. I also bet Colin Schiller is still a smug cunt. Good mags at the time though.

Schiller runs a motorcycle shop in Chelsea called Gorgeous bikes. You may remember they were a sponsor of Sean Emmetts back in the day. Twiggy could tell you some interesting stories about Schiller when he was still with us. I had a few dealings with Schiller over the years. He got me the gig working for a team in BSS back in 1997 and I was also going to do some writing for his then new Real and Proper Motorcycle magazine that he tried to get up and running around 2005? I think the idea behind it was that it would be a quarterly. Only remember seeing a couple of editions before he gave up on print journalism.

Remember hearing off a mate who did a bit of subby work for Fast Bikes that Schiller managed to piss Dohan off over something which came to a head at Donnington when Mighty Mick squared up and offered Dan Harris out
