After going up from my traditional 32 to a 34 recently I decided I was a fat bastard and needed to sort it out. My solution wasn't exercise as I was already doing enough and you can't really out exercise bad food intake.
I decided keto was for me so for a couple of weeks I've been literally eating steak and eggs with some cheese and nuts from time to time. In terms of weight loss I must say it works well. I don't seem to put on external fat but I must get internally fat as I can now pull my stomach back in and those 32s fit nicely again after only 2 weeks of this. It also reduces your level of farting to almost zero.
The downside firstly is that it's a pain in the arse. If you are the sort of person that eats out a lot then forget it. You'll be wasting your money tryiing to find meals that won't bust your carb limits. If you can't do some pre-prep and get all the food in before hand you'll probably not stick to it. The personal downside for me is that it ended up fucking me up.......I didn't realise it could interfere with my thyroid medicine uptake so I started to feel dizzy and tired. Did some tests and my blood pressure was almost 160 and my pulse was low 40s so I'm guessing I've just now slowed my metabolism down.....
Anyway......if you don't suffer a thyroid problem and want to lose a lot of fat in a short time then go for it. The first 2 or 3 days are the worst as your body wants carbs and sugars and you feel like a crack fiend. I think the fat losses start to plateau after a month or so anyway. If anything it's a useful test of willpower.
