Yep, the old "if that was MotoGP" comparison springs to mind, if it was we'd all be creamin' our pants.
Gardner did well, just missed out on a podium in the SPR. Not sure if this is just a flash in the pan though. When we hear of riders making the difference on a bike, that definitely applies to Toprak, VdMark won't do anything earth shattering but he might benefit from Topraks results wrt bike improvements.

Mixed conditions are always interesting and inevitably throw up some odd results.

Yeah, good racing, pleased for Spinelli and Barni.
As stated though maybe Gardner's podium is more relevant, although I'm not sure he's there to stay.
Sam Lowes needs to be closer to Iannone in terms of performance.
The Bulega / Bautista battle seems to be turning in Alvaro's favour but I think we'll see more from Bulega. Could they take enough points off each other to let Toprak win the title?

Brilliant racing, there was a bit of everything there, Spinelli winning on his debut with huge luck due to red flag, Bautista on fire in the sprint race making up a massive deficit with some lets say forceful moves, and race 2 was just uber exciting from start to finish. I love Assen.
