Rumours are that the F1 owners are thinking of buying MotoGP rights from Dorna.
Many fans are fed up with Dorna, but would Liberty really be able to do better than Ezpeleta's crew? Personally I doubt it.
Strange as it may seem I think I'd prefer that Dorna retained the rights.

Two sides to this. One is a potential outreach push beyond watch Dorna is capable of. Potentially it means more sponsors and coverage.
The other side is it becomes the terribly manufactured plastic show that F1 has become. Casey Stoner wouldn't like it.

Not sure about that first point, bike racing has quite a finite audience I reckon. Unlikely to tempt non-bikers into the catchment group.
Pretty sure that Casey wouldn't like it though! (Does he like anything?)

I don't know, I remember when everyone literally everyone knew who Sheene was but then again loads more people used to ride in some way or another before you needed to do 15 tests to even look in dealers showroom.
Even getting it back on BBC and the like would help even if it's delayed live like C4 get with F1.

This story seems to be gaining a lot of traction in the press. No smoke without fire. And it seems that Ezpeleta has had to admit that if the right offer is made, Dorna would consider selling.

As long as there is racing I don't really car. But see that F1 susbsciption is pretty good with live timing included. Aslo have a cheaper non-live option that would suit me. I hardly ever watch live.

Lol at 4bn valuation. F1 was only valued at 8bn in 2017 and that pisses all over MotoGP

The reporting on this is utter shite.
At first Liberty were going to buy the rights from Dorna, Expeleta was going to be out of the game etc. But now it seems that they are buying Dorna instead.
But Dorna was already in the hands of multiple shareholders including Bridgepoint (and later some Canadian Pensions fund) as the majority hoder. It seems that this is just a sale of shares from Bridgepoint and the Canadians to Liberty. Hard to see how this will affect the way Dorna runs things.
The Spanish media are crying about it being the end of an era, we will lose the 3 or 4 Spanish territory GPs, Spanish rider dominance will be over, the Spanish championship will no longer be the nmain feeder series, Spanish will no longer be the main language spoken in the paddock...
Uh, why?
When the British and Canadians owned Dorna it was like that. Why would selling the same shares to the Americans make any difference? Dorna is still a Spanish company...
Am I missing something?

Shame. I was hoping for 5 street circuit races and a replacement of classic race circuits like Mugello.
Maybe we can go to Macau or bring back the the TT?

Spa Circuit would be good, MotoGP bikes hooning down Eau Rouge would be impressive!....

I guess Liberty must be pleased that the law suit trying to close Laguna Seca has been resolved. It must be in the running for a MotoGP round if Liberty are really going to have the influence over Dorna which people seem to think it will. I'd be glad to see MotoGP back there.

Gulp.
Everything Moto Racing: MotoGP and F1 could have a joint round in the new Liberty Media era, bringing new eyes and fans to the sport.

Some of these new twitter 'media' outlets are just taking the piss and saying any old shit. They will never hold a joint round, it doesn't make any sense for anybody. There's barely enough time in the day for a normal programme never mind all the bike classes and lower formula in F1. This stupid idea seems to have come up after some dumbass pointed out Silverstone has 2 sets of pits.
Who the fuck would pay 750 to see motogp?
