Waiting for it to turn up. Gave the slk its first proper hand wash and noticed all the scratches etc. Found a decent polisher with loads of spare pads on eBay and got some meguiars ultimate cutting compound and some ceramic polish to go after.
Bought glass cleaner and wheel cleaner and interior cleaner and fucking snow foam and the kitchen sink. Next I'll be buying claybars and getting into 'detailing'

www.chromecp.com/product/chrome-embellish/This stuff is superb. Not cheap but it lasts for ages. Wash and dry the car then just spray a fine mist on the bodywork and polish off with a microfibre cloth. Showroom finish every time. Car has to be bone dry and you literally just spray a very fine amount. Too much and it takes ages to wipe off. Make sure you buy the right one as there are different products for light/dark paint.

This detailing stuff is a rabbit hole.

It's amazing. Can't really use it at this time of year because it's too cold to get the car completely dry but the finish is stunning.

after you have polished and everthing is clean, get this : Gyeon WetCoat
Trust me, beive the hype. One light spray on a panel and pressure wash and it beads off. Should last a couple of weeks before having to reapply.
Do not use too much per panel. Amazing stuff.
Going to do the shower next :-)
