Just done another 2.5 days in Wales. Sat was all clear - plenty of police around on Sunday. 2 speed traps on the amazing B4391 alone. Luckily loads of bikers about so we had plenty of warning flashes all day. We set the last ride of the day from Newtown to Crossgates A483 - got there and the road was closed for an accident presumably. Grabbed a coffee and went back and it had just reopened - so there was hardly any traffic ahead. One of the best rides of the year and starting to get to grips with the Hyperstrada. NGE I couldnt find this thread - cause it should be in road riding section i guess!

On a slight Ducati tangent!...I got my Multistrada fixed on Tuesday, it had developed a misfire under load after a very wet day on holiday in June. Turns out the front HT lead was cracked and the plug corroded due to water contamination. Not sure if the cracked lead was related to the water or maybe it had deteriorated over time, no idea. Bit disappointed as its only 3 years old, and out of warranty!!
So 2 x ht leads, 4 plugs, oil service, new tyres and 4 hours labour and I'm 1200euros poorer! (half of that was the tyres). I suppose it was best case scenario, if it had been any electronic gremlins it could have been worse.

I've never owned a 100% no issue bike, probably like all of us, but it's a great all rounder. Very comfortable riding position, I can get 200 miles on a tank with a sensible right hand and it handles great. The 1200MS was a bit flighty but they lengthened the swing-arm on the 1260 and it's more stable. Unlucky for me but same ht lead issue happened to my mate on his BMW a few years ago. For me, with 95% of my riding being touring, it's the best bike I've owned.

Amazing how well the big modern tourers now handle.
