My racing mate knows some dude that swears by his 1200 bandit. He's also a pretty quick ex-supermoto man or something and says he'd take the bandit over a sportsbike any day.
On paper they don't seem that quick? 97hp and 11.2s quarter isn't that fast really.
You lot ever ridden one? I know Droog used to hate them with a passion. I'm intrigued but maybe guessing if you want a 'good' one it will involve GSXR front ends etc?

Never ridden a 1200 Bandit, but they always seem to owned by larger gentlemen.
A few mates of mine have transitioned from sports bikes to super nakeds recently and they swear by them; sportsbike power, with a more upright riding position and wider bars! V-twin Aprilia Tuonos and BMW S1000Rs seem to be pretty popular!

I looked a 1000 vtwin tuono in Gem Speed Shop in Batley. It looked better up close than I imagined.

Always liked the XJR, looks better than the Bandit imho. PhilThW had one.

Test rode the big Bandit when they came out. Must have been in the 90s. Thought it was huge fun but I'm not sure I'd think the same now. Or maybe I would.
At the risk of sounding all Mason-like, I don't understand the obsession with horsepower. People seem to think it's a measure of engine bigness. It's not. It's the peak power output, normally at or near peak revs. Somewhere you'll almost never be on the road. A more relevant indicator is the torque curve and this is what will make the big Bandit a better bike on the road. Horsepower is entirely relevant on the track but if you're cutting about in your one-piece leathers bragging about the extra 5hp your new £1000 slip-ons have released then you're really just telling cunts how big a walloper you are.
Years ago a mate described it as this: torque is what gives you acceleration, horsepower is what gives you top speed. If you're struggling to tell the difference between them then this description is good enough.

Thing is the gsxr does provide the acceleration. It just has to be in the right gear.
I had a cunt in a m3 I wanted to get rid of the other day and I had to cog it down from 6th to 3rd to make sure it was going to go my way.

Yup, you just had to drop into the right part of the torque curve to get the acceleration that you needed. In my experience, M3 drivers are normally muppets who shit themselves at the first sign of a corner anyway... it's not hard to loose them!

Yeah was one of those cheating cunts that can't keep it in the white lines. I hate that. Keep in your lane or go home on the roads.
