I usually leave a bit of cash (£10-20) in the car for just in case situations and also leave a USB power pack in the glovebox.
Annoyingly today I went shopping with the wife and when I went to pay my Barclay app wouldn't do contactless payments even though I was plenty flush. The app them told me contactless payments were no longer possible with my device. I reinstalled it but no, your device can't be used for payments. I didn't have my wallet so the wife had to pay.
Fucking technology. Do I now have to buy a new phone just for banking? Cunts.

You might have to use your card and PIN which is registered with your phone to make a payment before you can use the latter again.

Could well be, I think every 5 times you use contactless cards you have to enter your pin, just in case someone has nicked your card. Phones could require you to logout/login at regular intervals. I bet there are loads of people who dont even have a pin on their phone yet use it for tap and go banking. |

Banking is fine with credit and debit card, plus coins in the ash tray for parking meters.
What is pissing me off about modern life tech, is when I go away for a few days I need a charger for my phone, another for sat nav (if walking around), another for camera and another for tablet.
I think the EU have said most electronic tech now has to come with a standard charging method.

I think the EU have said most electronic tech now has to come with a standard charging method. I think that the EU passed a law requiring all future mobile phones and tablets to use a USB C connector, which pissed Apple right off! |

Nah, it's not the pin as I tried that as well at a cash machine. I've also got a pin sentry thing. It just won't let me use contactless payments, says it's the device. Fuck knows why as it was working one day and now it doesn't work.
I guess the other solution is don't forget your wallet but I know some people that don't ever carry a wallet now with all this crap.
Imagine owning a fucking Tesla and you can't get in it because your phone is fucked or whatever.

Having said that I'm relatively sure that my bank card is spying on me.
Google has an office near our Dublin office. It's fucking enormous. Must be 5 massive floors. The fuck are they doing in there?

I have my debit card linked to Google Wallet on my Android phone, use it a lot of the time, other than that I use the actual debit card itself. I usually carry 50euros cash "just in case". As for other hardware, only a charging cable in the car or on the bike when travelling.. |

Cunting Barclays. Apparently my phone is not supported anymore despite it being it only about 2 years old, if that. Cunts.
I was also trying to buy something from the Akai website and the payment was declined. That vendor doesn't support verified by visa so you can't use your visa card with them. FUCK TECHNOLOGY!
