Petrucci went to see RD to complain about Lowes, asking why he got a penalty at PI and Lowes didnt. www.gpone.com/en/2023/03/05/sbk/petrucci-the-superpole-race-is-like-bumper-cars-lowes-broke-bazs-leg.htmlFairly obvious to me what happened. Not sure who caused the Lowes/Baz crash in the SP race, Lowes claiming Petrucci cut across him, but they didnt show much of the build up to that one. Onboard from Lowes would help. Just 13 and 16 points for Rea and Lowes. After Lowes' bike was destroyed, they got his spare bike, which is a rolling chassis without engine put together very quick. Its a crap rule, supposedly in place to limit a rider to 1 bike to save costs. But it saves no costs, just a lot of hurried work for the mechanics who could easily rush it and miss something serious. Why not have a 2nd bike ready, but its not allowed to turn a wheel until an official gives the nod after the number 1 bike is trashed.

Interesting weekend for sure!
I agree that Basani is impressing (although he's a bit "edgy" sometimes) and looks to be doing at least as well as Rinaldi did in te staelite team.
Kawasaki look desperate on track. They were counting on getting their 500 rpm back after creating the "new" bike, but Dorna / FIM were having none of it. Rea looks like he's overriding to compensate. Lowes too, he went up the inside of Petrucci when its the person overtaking who has to make the clean pass, waving his arms at Danilo did him no favours. Don't blame him for the Baz clash though, I'm surprised this is the first time too.
Supersport seems more interesting this year too. Particulalry pleased for Oncu for his first SSP win and Tuuli for a great podium on the Triumph.

Crazy superpole race and got to say that race 2 part one before the red flag was absolutely mental. You literally didn't know where to look as the overtaking action was all over the fucking shop. Felt for Rinaldo, he was off.
On the subject of dangly leg gate. Looked excruciatingly painful for Baz, and the last person he wanted behind him was crazy horse Lowes, but they seriously need to ditch this ridiculous manoeuvre. Rossi started it and he was fucking god so it had to be essential. Absolutely bullshit. Show me the science Phil, i need to know how the fuck it does any good.

The crucial line for me is the jury's out on the benefits of leg waving. I think they've all got in the habit of it. Maybe not so much now they see what happens when it goes wrong

I just hope we don't get to the point where to overtake, the rider making the move needs to give space for any possible deviation or extension of the other rider's silhouette. You can't expect every rider to make space for people sticking legs, elbows, heads, cock or whatever out just because they think it gives them an advantage.

Baz blames the track. Lack of use means it gets dirty then a very narrow clean line results.
The racing isnt as good as nobody wants to run into the dirty parts. Redding crashed and nearly took out Locatelli when he tried. Rea & Bautista incident, VD Mark's massive high side etc
