Surprised one of the others didn't veto that, but they didn't apparently. I dont think they are that worried, the CBR is an old bike. Ducati wouldnt object, they have got away with effectively a MotoGP engine in WSBK. Also a 955cc V2 in WSS against 600cc inline 4s. In the Foggy era, they had to race against 750cc inline 4s with their 916/996 until they changed the rules in 2003. Must admit I've not paid too much attention to WSS but having watched PI I will in future. The Panigale V2, even with a 350cc advantage, didn't dominate in 2022...but it does seem a bit of a piss take for a 955 V2 to be in the same class as an I4 600. Time will tell. DO they have any "penalty" rules if Ducati start running away with it?

I believe that the balancing rules are more elaborate for WSS than WSB because of the large differences in engine configuration and size; don't forget Triumph's 765 triple and MZ's 800 triple!

The get 2 45 minute sessions of FP Friday then its straight into superpole on Saturday. Not a lot of time. This year they have all the data from last year, so I would expect them to do better.

I was bored yesterday so took the dyno charts off Ducati's website for V4 and V4R and plotted the values from my 2003 GSXR1000 K3 on it. Thats the at the rear wheel figures, not the crank. I suspect the Ducati figures are crank. The V4R has standard and racing exhaust figures.
The K3 beats the V4R on power and torque up to 10,000rpm. The red line on the K3 was 12,500 or thereabouts. The V4R then revs on and on. The V4 beats the K3 everywhere, but who wants that performance on the road. I sold the K3 as it was too much. The 675cc Triumph Street Triple I bought was far more fun to ride on the road.
BSB Superstock 1000 allows up to 1100cc, but for 1000-1100cc they have to use a given ECU and ditch the electronic rider aids. The 1000cc bikes can keep whats on the road version. So nobody has chosen to race the V4, although I think its now 1103cc anyway. Nobody races the V4R either, maybe cost?
