Nice. Abit of a shame they are all resticted to 45bhp. I think they need to have a fair bit of work done to release the extra ponies. If those few corners are indicative of that road, I don't think that destricting those bikes would make a lot of difference TBH!

Wasn't releasing the extra HP not that tricky anyway on those bikes. I think it was only the MC28 smart card that had to have some sort of custom wiring loom. Been looking at 250 strokers again as I did think of treating myself but they seem have done up by another 3K this year with stuff that used to be £6k now being 9k. I'm not putting £9k-12k into something I actually want to ride and give a good hiding. The SV is definitely going unless I do THIS to it

Nothing I don't think. It's a minitwins race series fairing. Most come white or gel coated. What you need is a new instruments bracket and subframe to go with fairing and the rest is up to you. I don't think you are allowed to tune the engines. It's basically just an SV with a decent rear shock and suspension with emulators and better springs.
Sadly I have the silver frame so it doesn't look as mega-bastard.

Yeah, but silver frames are more "prototype" A mate of mine used to race mini-twins and you're right; apart from a "power commander", aftermarket air filter and minor suspension updates, his SV was pretty much standard... but it was enough to embarrass more than a few litre bike at Castle Combe and RAF Wittering. Great handling bikes once the suspension is sorted! Get a 750cc big bore conversion to go with the rest of the updates

I'm thinking I should have another bike that isn't a sports or sports style bike. The SV had been gathering dusk since the GSXR arrived.

Lovely bike Spuu. I used to get a Gixxer out whenever I put my Mille in for a service and they were brutally quick.
Is it just me or are there hardly any new(ish) litre sports bikes on the road these days?

Not sure. There seem to plenty at Squires but seeing one ridden like cunt on the roads is a rare sight. They are mentally expensive now though.

They're mentally expensive but they're also mentally quick and have been for the thick end of 20 years. I'm definitely in the zone of "can't use the performance I've got so what's the point of more?" and I wonder how many others are.
Fair fucks if you're doing track days but even then you'd surely struggle to get past 4th gear on most UK track days. I'm sure Spuu's gixxer will go well past a ton in first gear on standard sprockets.

Most of my bikes have either been big V twins or high capacity I4 with loads of torque, so you never really needed to rev them and you're doing silly speeds already. Useable low/mid range grunt is where it's at for road riding.
I always liked the v2.0 RSV1000R 'Priller, I had the original model but the next gen was a nicer looking bike. Maybe one for the bike-shed in my retirement!

These used to give me the raging horn I just don't think they are that good without some suspension fettling? I know the TL1000s was a weirdly suspended cunt.

That's an odd choice as they were a total failure as a race bike. Didn't it do well in one AMA race and that was about it?
