That's the gag Neil. Not too many opportunities to crack a decent paedophile joke these days.

Sinead O'connor is a particularly sad death at 56. A very unique talent who wasn't afraid to make a powerful statement, she always seemed to be up against it though. Just listening to a track she recorded with Jah Wobble (Visions of You) that I hadn't heard before and it's just stunning.
RIP.

The Last Waltz was never equalled as a music film. Scorsese absolutely fucking nailed it. Hopefully it will be on loads this weekend.
RIP Robbie Robertson. Did incredible work with the Band and had a very fine solo hit too.

Been a bad week but to me the loss of Shane McGowan is the biggest. A unique character and maybe least unexpected death due to to his lifestyle, but his legacy is his outstanding songwriting. Saw The Pogues at Glasgow Barrowlands in 1990 and it remains one of the all time greatest gigs I’ve ever seen. The energy, the atmosphere, the shear drunken joy. Fantastic.

Brigit Forsyth, 83, quite a lovely actress. Alistair Darling, 70, in an era of indecent politicians you'd want more like him. Henry Kissinger, 100, you don't get many notable 'tonne-up's. Dean Sullivan, 68, Jimmy Corkhill. Geordie Walker, 64, brilliant guitarist for Killing Joke. Terry Venables, 80, predicted Crystal Palace to the 'team of the 80s'. Annabel Giles, 64, by many accounts a good egg of a former TV person. Joss Ackland, 95, bloody good actor.
Probably more needed to plug the gap.

Have to add John Byrne, renowned artist, trained in the Glasgow school of art, writer of Tutti Frutti, and good friend of Billy Connolly.
