They will still be able to get alcohol but only in restricted areas away from the stadiums...I see some lawsuits coming.

Not too sure that its right to say that FIFA got played... the only beer available will be in the official FIFA fan areas... I'd say its the fans who have been played. FIFA are going to quite well out of this I reckon!

Blatter's got some front saying it should be taking place there.
I'm not going to watch any of it and neither are the fellas I work with. It feels a bit wrong, especially for those players that might only make it to one WC.

The more I watch "The Great Game", less interest I have in it. This year I've watched live BSB & WSB, 2 Harlequins rugby games, 2 T20 cricket games and 2 Southampton (Premier & FA Cup) games. The footy comes a poor 4th, mainly because there is some much cheating, falling over, bad discipline etc by overpaid 'professionals'.
Anyone going to Qatar expecting the pre-match alcohol fuelled atmosphere would be disappointed anyway. Watch the games sober then a few beers at the hotel?
I cant imagine them tolerating drunken fans throwing chairs around cafes/bars much.
Maybe we should have a sweepstake on the highest number of locked up pissheads by country.
