Baustista will win because he's small.

Baustista will win because he's small. And Ducati will win because they're fast. And because they cost more.

Its a bloody shame that PI won't see a title decision.

The rain and drying track mucked that race a bit. Toprak had an issue in pitlane which delayed him, Rea won in for the 1st time for yonks. Kyle Smith led the race for a wile, and still finished 12th on wets. Forecast for tomorrow looks like patchy sowers.

The weather did fuck things up a bit but the pit stops gave a new dynamic. Kyle Smith did amazingly well to make wet tyres last 22 laps and Alex Lowes just stayed out too long before pitting. He could win tomorrow as he looked strong.

Sad to see ELAv ending his career with a bad crash at T1, pelvis injury of some sort according to media. Cross fingers its not too bad.
Hell of a gamble for Bautista in the SP race on slicks which paid off. Alex Lowes had a good weekend, but still ended up 6th.

For some reason the sprint race didn't record so I didn't see that.
I guess that sort of sums up Laverty's career really. Never really had luck on his side once he moved into the big leagues.
I can see another year of pain for Rea next year. He's getting old enough to be past his prime but I suppose Bautista is as well but if they don't handicap Bautista then he'll win next year.

I thought the wet / dry gamble made the last round quite interesting given that the title was already in the bag. The part I don't like is the minimum time for the swap. It's obviously understandable from a safety perspective, but seeing people penalised for leaving the pit a second early is abit odd.
A good show of force from Scott in the first few laps of Race 2, he did well to hold up the field and maek himself wide for a while!
Interesting results of the works teams' second riders, Lowes obviously coming out on top, Rinaldi on the other hand....

Why did the minimum stop time come about? Was there an accident?

Shame that race 2 ended on a red flag, it was shaping up for a cracking finish with tyre degradation a major factor and rain in the air. Hopefully Eugene isn't badly injured, shit way to end his career. Got to say Alvera showed massive bravery to run with slicks in the sprint race and it made for a great race. Philip Island is a fantastic track but the conditions were all over the place, hopefully the weather will be better in February. One of the best seasons ever for me.

I think Bautistas skill level is being a bit overlooked, maybe purposely, cynically I'd say to try and push this weight agenda. At the end of the day he was a MotoGP rider and historically half decent gp riders have done well.
