IMO the weight limit is all bollocks.
Bautista did fuck all on the Honda which also was a rocketship on the straightaways. Ducati are being penalised for building a superb race bike.
In basketball do smaller players get to wear pogo shoes or in football do smaller goalies get lower crossbars?

Ducati do not have a "large capacity V-twin advantage" anymore, so their rivals have to find something to moan about!

When the ballast idea was banded around MotoGP a few years back it was the general agreed consensus that its unfair to the rider as a fixed balast amount would be a penatly weight compared to a rider that carries it on their body and can therefore shift it in certain areas to gain an advantage. I dont know if fuel saving modes kick in to hinder WSB bikes like they do when MotoGP burn too much - but that is something that could be granted as there is zero doubt that lugging around an extra 20kgs will use more fuel. Give Redding an extra litre of gas vs the lightwights like Alvaro but the there should be no min weight limit. Agree with the ballast thing, you can just even the overall weight up otherwise Bautista will have to move around a much heavier weight compared to his own. Cluzel has been complaining about that, according to Eurosport commentators. Somewhere in the middle would be best. In WSS I think they treat a normal riders weight fully kitted as 78kg. It would be interesting to see what the range of riders weights and bikes in the class. The heavy riders should still be over the combined bike/rider weight limit. The fuel idea is a good discussion point. I wonder if they are near an empty tank at the end. Maybe let the heavier riders have more power, via RPM, plus a bit more fuel so they dont run out. Or cut the RPM/power on the lighter rider's bikes.

I'm wondering who the lightest/heaviest riders in BSB are. Richard Cooper is a small lad, did he zoom past Peter Hickman? Is the weight more of an issue in WSB as they have TC and they can fine tune that?

Ducati win their first title in 10years and then people are talking about rule changes. Just becuase the Duc was visibly quicker on the straights. Reminds me of when Stoner was blasting Rossi down the Qatar straight on the 800 Desmo with a HUGE top speed advantage. Time was to tell that bike was an absoulte pig and what Stoner had to make up around the other 95% of the track was immense. Rossi was on a far superiour bike the entire season.

All this weight advantage shite detracts from the skill and consistency Bautista has shown all season. Rinaldo on an identical bike and pretty lightweight himself did next to nothing all season. Redding has always been a moaning cunt when things don't go his way and had his chance on the Ducati last year.
