The gixxer is stupidly long, like 75-80 in first. I've been reading -1,+2 rear is good?

My 750 came with -1 on the front, but when I changed the kit I went back to standard, which, had I known the bike would end up as a 90% track bike, I wouldn't have done.
In fact I was at Jarama on Sunday and spent all the ride home reciting to myself "must lower the gearing and buy a quicker action throttle".

Mine may be heading that way. I'm not sure I can be arsed cosmetically doing it up and I've been looking at cars that take a trailer. Just use it on track, flog the Sv and get that Royal Enfield I keep looking at.

Yup, a trailer has been creeping steadily up my list of priorities for some time now, but soon I'm going to have to admit that I actually want one.
I have been resisting becoming a trackaddictdickhead though.
First you get the trailer, then the race fairing, then the tyre warmers, next thing you know you're an out and out gobshite who nobody wants to go for a beer with. It's like wearing lycra just because you've got a bicycle.

Last time I was on track some bloke was literally the Ducati king. He had the awning, the tyre warmers and his wife was running about like uccio bringing him a towel while he sat in his chair. I guess that's where you end up eventually.

I've really enjoyed the last 2 years of track days but I have to admit that last Sunday was a bit of an eye opener for me. It's normal to see people run off track, lowsides into the gravel etc. but on Sunday there were three separate incidents of bikes making contact and crashing, they are obviously the worst types of crash and ambulances were a bit too busy for my liking.
Apart fromn the lost track time while the ambulances attend to the riders and the track gets cleaned of oil and coolant, there's the psychological part about riding past a guy lying unconcious, face down on the tarmac, who 10 minutes earlier you were chatting with in the pits. We are all aware of the dangers of motorsport but I confess that I wasn't quite prepared for that image.

One of my mates got into 'the ring' big time and witnessed someone on a motorbike slide headfirst into a barrier and die. He's into bikes as well and is quick enough and started properly by doing race schools but he says he'll never ride a motorbike there. Cars only for that place.
I must say I think I'd turn it down unless I was guaranteed a quiet spot. I've been round it in his car and even when you start cracking on, some really mad cunt is always coming up fast. Very, very fast as well. Some people are basically running road legal GT3 cars.
