I seem to have, by talking about it, predicted the demise of the Cooper diesel. It's making this sucking noise, sounds like tractor and is smoking out of the back what may be the rocker cover. Theres too much plastic shit to take off to get a good look but whatever.
Also noticed the injectors had a bit of oily residue on a couple of their bases and they weren't even properly hand tight.
One minute it was ok, did a 10 mile journey and then my wife put the windows down through town and noticed this horrendous sound. Cunt.
Can't be fucked putting big money into it and may just cut and run and sell it for scrap. Taking it to a garage tomorrow and see what the verdict is. Definitely is too end though.
As I mentioned before I'm thinking about one of those small things from the VW/Seat/Skoda range. No turbos and shit to go wrong.

How old is it? A mechanic I knew while back seemed to have a mini missing a front end for ages. I asked if it was a repair project, but no an engine issue that cost loads of time because you it was necessary to take the front off to get to it.
Yeah, you mentioned a citigo. Sound a bit baffly but no problems we're told.

It's 2010 with 130k on it. I'm not attached to it so if I sell it as a scrapper then no big deal.
The fronts of minis actually come off fairly quickly and easily. Think they're designed that way.
I will probably end up annoyed with myself if it's just the valve cover gasket or something easy but don't have the inclination to be fucking about with it and if it's not repairable then I'll have to set something fairly quickly. School runs and senile parents demand it.

Keep toying with the idea of a new car. BMW's 3.0L diesel remaps to 400hp and almost 600lb of torque. Just not sure I want a 3/4/5 series beemer. The 640d is a looker but it's a big car. £20-£25k gets you a decent 16-17 plate.
Then it always comes back to my current car being super reliable and still in great nick so fuck knows.

Well I got it into a garage today and ANNOYINGLY it was the injectors and I could probably fixed that myself.....except there was a problem.....sleeve came out... blah blah...add some more money to repair....
Fucking garage cunts. Sounds like it will be back on the road but possibly with added engine knock seeing the compression is back up. Fuck me. I don't care, if it runs and isn't going to catch fire I'll keep using it. At least I will be on the look out for new one now and if the right one comes up I'll buy it.
I think I have also given up on the fast car idea. My car usage is commute, pick kids up and then drag over to see parents. All journeys which are usually clogged and you may as well have a 1.0 Jazz as you can't make any progress.
Went to work on GSXR today and passed one of my work colleagues down the twisties and they said I was a bloody idiot as I was too low to ground leaning over and I said well if I didn't lean over then I'd be in a hedge. She was probably secretly gushing at my prowess. Not sure what that has to do with cars but whatever.

Well I've been garage trapped good and proper. Now apparently the injectors are totally fucked and it will barely run. Initially went to collect it to just run it with engine knock and fuck the consequences but it now runs like complete shit and has trouble starting. Well 1 injector is definitely fucked, another may be fucked....£180 each plus vat. Err....fuck that.
Told them I'd rather just stick the car on Ebay at that price and then they said they'd fit any injectors I could lay my hands on if I wanted to save money. Just bought 2 for less than £50. Fuck me. Going to mark up these injectors just to make sure I'm not been diddled here and they actually get fitted.

Viewed a 66-plate beemer 435d today. 45k miles, gunmetal grey, x-drive, really nice coupe. But...do I really want to throw £20k at a 6 year old car? Do I really want to part with my super reliable Merc?
I'm such an indecisive cunt.

May I suggest you at least test drive it? Aye, salesman was being a bit of a prick about that. I might as well just fucking buy it. Bumper pay rises getting thrown around at work just now.

Covid was great for selling blind but there's no reason for no test drive shit these days.

Well my car got fixed with new injectors so this isn't about that one.
My mate just got his new BMW 2 series M sport thing. What the fuck. I've never seen such levels of techo-fuckery inside a car. It's like something out of a science fiction film inside. It's got controls for literally everything, including shit you didn't need controls for. The speedo is one of those computer screen ones with all manner of overlays and info you can put on as well as a centre console display for all other manner of fuckery. It's got a twisty dial and buttons for various modes to put it into and they who thing was like a fighter plan cockpit.
I am clearly out of the loop with new car tech!!
