About a month ago my beloved Sony Xperia SP died on me. I'm working poor now and I wanted to keep my current sim only contract I have had the past 3 years. £14 per month and totally unlimited everything. No small print on data, it is actually a real unlimited contract. Anyway I've been looking for a new phone for the past six months but nothing in my then price range of £250 caught my eye. When the SP died I made do with my old Sony Xperia U but by today's standards the phone was tiny and slow.
A friend at work who is a bit of a tech guru told me to go check out Cubot phones. He said he and his pals had used them previously and he himself was replacing his Galaxy S7 with a Cubot Cheetah 2. I was sceptical but desperate so I had a look at their website and ordered one off of Amazon. I went for the Cubot Dinosaur (what a bad name for a piece of technology) as it has a massive battery and this is more important to me then outright performance. It comes with 2 sim slots and the battery is not hard wired in so you can buy a replacement or a spare one for just £8. Paid my £95 and waited.
It arrived and my first impression was that it was a quality piece of kit and very well made. It is fast as fuck and comes with a standard android operating system rather then one tampered with by the phone brand. I have had it over a month now and it is still amazing that such a quality piece of kit can be sold at such a low price. With hindsight I would have opted for the Cheetah 2 as that is a superior phone in every department bar the battery size and only costs £20 more.
They even come with a good case and screen protection already applied. If you are poor or tight and you are in the market for a new phone, I can honestly say these phones are excellent. My pal got the Cheetah 2 and it is superb.
I tried to get my boy on board as he has destroyed the iPhone 5S I got him but he is brainwashed into thinking only apple make phones. I've just ordered his Christmas present of a new iPhone 8 and I have never felt so conned in my life.
