Phil won't be happy with Ducati
“We’ll see,” he continued when pushed about the prospect of team orders.
“Obviously, it’s very important for Ducati to win the rider’s title because we only won it once, in 2007. It’s a long time ago, with Casey. So let’s see.
“Obviously, we need to maximise the possibilities to gain points on Fabio and see what happens but for the moment we just enjoy today’s result and the constructors title

I think I'm on my own here but I really like Motegi.

I don't have anything against Motegi.
As for team orders, they're going to have to spell it out very clearly for Bastianini. After San Marino Domenicali criticised Enea saying that he shouldn't be overtaking Bagnaia. Not sure if that counts as team orders or not, but I wonder what he said after Aragon because obvioulsy Bastianini didn't really take it into account....

Nicky Hayden 252. Valentino Rossi 247
Jorge Lorenzo 330 Valentino Rossi 325
5 points on display there. Ducati may still regret not pulling out team orders.
As for the race? Who knows? Kind of want a FQ comeback now. He needs something.

Bagnaia: "I dont need help" He knows it is an individual rider's title, Ducati have already won the Manufacturer's title. www.motogp.com/en/videos/2022/09/22/i-don-t-need-help-ducati-duo-talk-team-orders-dilemma/437117If he starts gaining places from team orders with 5 races left, if he does win the title, it will make his title "look weak" Sept 13, 2022 15:56:16 GMT 1 mekon said: Fabio got to put a show on against Marquez or it makes his titles look weak. FQ needs to beat MM + all the Ducati riders FB needs to beat FQ & MM.

Baggsy can talk all he wants but Ducati, his employers want that title. Nobody remembers who won the manufacturers title, the honours come with the riders title.
None of the riders is bringing personal sponsors capable of covering anywhere near the bill of running their bikes. Ducati has always viewed the rider as a tool.
The series has suffered from a lack of Marquez. Even last week when he goes into the first corner in 5th everyone suddenly remembered what he brings and brought. I don't think Mir's title defense was quite as bad as Hayden's but he won it in a less impressive fashion, it was a bit weak really. Hodgson this morning reckoned Marquez would clean house on a Ducati.

Rossi has 9 titles, Marquez 8, Yamaha? Honda? Its the riders people remember. The bike should be a tool for the rider.
But these days, its all about the money money money.
Bastianini has won 4 races this year, is still in with chance of the title, and told, dont overtake our man.
Ducati took a bike capable of still winning races today and fucked around with it too much in the winter, and they have been playing catch up. Bagnaia crashed at Qatar and was 38 points behind Bastianina after 4 races.
If Bagnaia wins because of team orders, thats what people will remember. If it were Quatararo, you would be all over it like a rash.

The title contenders finished Q in 9th, 12th, 6th and 15th. Its looking like it will be dry tomorrow. Will they catch up with MM if he gets tired towards the end of the race. MM was last on pole 3 years ago, here. Its going to be an interesting race.

Not the best MotoGP race to watch, Miller in a different postcode….good to see KTM podium, right tyre choice. Solid ride from MM and a late pass for 4th, must be happy with that. Bagniai, oops…that could’ve been controversial!..team orders for Bastianini?…did I see G3 on his pit board late on?

Moto3. Guevara. 1st time at the track, minimal dry time in FP, wins and 45 points lead. He hasnt been to any of the next 3 of the 4 remaining tracks either. Will that matter? Doesnt look like it.
Moto2. 1st home win for a Japanese rider for yonks. Canet threw that one away, from pole, 1.75s lead in 3 laps.
MotoGP. I wonder what setup Miller used compared to Bagnaia, or was it just the rider? Miller just eased away, Bagnaia nowhere, then he tried a desperate pass on Quatararo and went down, nearly collected Quatararo. There are enough Ducatis on the grid to collect data.
Marquez had a fantastic comeback part 2, didnt go mad trying to fight off challenges and paced himself to go full distance. Quite rightly looked pleased with his race at the end.

Japanese win for Ogura from 13th. Best ride of the day imo. Taking the challenge to Fernandez. Basically nothing in it with 4 rounds left. Canet is too win or bin. Needs to tone it down.
Moto 3 was a bit meh for a moto3 race once the intial group had formed. Pity for Ogden but this is the highest level and it's a shark tank starting p2.
Motogp was sort of interesting if you forgot about the leader. Lots of mini-dramas going on. At this rate FQ is going to win the title despite probably the worst 2nd half of a season a winner has ever put together. Both him and Baggsy beaten by Marc the shark. Not a good look.
