Gutted for Leon but he is the toughest guy out there when it comes to dealing with pain. Shakey is a class act. Lovely genuine bloke and a top racer. Heard the commentary team say something about Ellison and Brookes swapping rides for next year?

Josh had a good ride to grab a place on the podium as well. Hopefully he will get a full time ride next season.

Not a place to lose your brakes and have to bail out (Shudder!! back in the day I used to know Graham Richie ). Over the weekend a couple of bikes nearly vaulted the fence into spectator areas which would have been a major problem for Higgs & Palmer, I've thought for a few seasons now that bikes have got too fast for the available runoff at quite a lot of UK circuits. It's the premier national championship by far, I think BSB needs to ditch a few circuits and spread into europe a bit more than just Assen, call is ESB or is that not in the spirit of Brexit.

It's a valid point (I was there when Graham crashed) but I would rather see a few new circuits built even if it meant they were built on top of current circuits and expanded.

How tough is Leon? Broken ankle, wrist and thumb and he gets carried out to congratulate Shakey. He must be gutted to have lost a 30+ point lead this weekend.
I was worried when Shakey started dropping back, it looked like Brookes might sneak the championship.

Deja vu for the Haslams, Ron had a big lead going into the last round of the old MCN superbike championship in 79 ? and lost out to Dave potter on the final corner after crashing in the earlier leg.
Mind, you don't realise how fast Hawthorn is until you see an out of control machine flash past.

It was great TV and won't do our sport any harm. Got to feel for Leon, but Shakey did what he had to do.

Horrible crash, glad Leon is ok....relatively speaking. I really wanted him to win the title.

Much as i like Shakey, he's never done back to back titles, blah blah blah, that was Leon's title and he was let down once more by his team. I'd move on if i was him.
Last year broken handlebar and he has to bail out at high speed. This year brake failure and he has to bail out at high speed. Clutch problems in race two. Fuck sakes, this was the decider and his bike issues hand the title to Shakey. Not good enough in my view.
Ironically Josh Brookes nearly sneaked the title with Byrne back down in 8th i think.
Superb drama once again in BSB.
They should drop WSB altogether and have more Assen like away weekends in Europe and let other countries see how good BSB is.

There wasn't that much nearly sneaking to be fair Pants, Shakey was riding round finishing at the slowest possible speed to win the title once Leon crashed.

Fair enough Matt but Shakey did say he was all over the place after he saw Leon fall in front of him, and went backwards at a rate for a few laps. There was still a possibiilty of a mechanical too so it was squeaky bum time in the last few laps.
