On way to work, see lad at side of road with motorbike looking forlorn. Decided to go back to see if he's ok, needs use of phone or anything.
See layby, slow to about 10 mph to turn round, forget road was recently covered in chippings which are all collected in layby, lose front end of bike.
Fairing scraped to fuck, indicator broken, bit on the exhaust, pegs etc., fairing maybe cracked or punctured somewhere. Mechanically seems fine as it was literally about 5-10mph.
So much for me ever finding a 2nd hand Telefonica fairing. I may just go the nuclear route and get one off Aliexpress and get another tank and respray to match.
FUCK!!
Last fucking accident was stupid low speed stuff as well when I highsided the ZX6R in the world car park at 15mph on the white lines in the wet.

I've probably got shoulder strain from lifting bike up and a badly bruised hip from the initial fall. Now that I've calmed down I've had times to put things into perspective and it's a nothing given what happened on Beefus's trip.
It's just a few hundred quid and some more elastic band shoulder exercises. It's only a gixxer not a rc45 or something.

You daft cunt!
The shit thing about paint and bodywork is that it doesn't matter how much you spend on tools and kit, you're unlikely to get a good result fixing it at home.
I'd rather have a mechanical failure any day.
At least your current avatar is quality! Sid James at his finest.

Well I guess I can potentially get it looking ok by two potential routes. I've seen some replica ready painted Telefonica fairings on AliExpress. The difference is the actual bike has vinyl decals over metallic blue fairings.
This leads down the other path of getting all the panels filled and resprayed and getting a replica vinyl decal set. If I wanted the bike to look as was this would be the way to do it.
Sort of tempted to say fuck it and get some lucky strike on it.
