there's onboard footage of him ringing it's neck, clutch in, on the last lap, for absolutely no reason. once coming round the penultimate corner, then again as he came into pitlane. (to essentially retire from the race)

Said it before, but could be very wrong.
He worked hard at Suzuki and won with them. Had no pressure as Suzuki were not at the front and only just getting things going with consssions. His train of thought was probably "If I can win on a Suzuki, I can win on a Yamaha" He got the offered the Yamaha ride and and did well, but the pressure to perform was looming overhead all the time. On a muliple WC bike he had to perform. So started the yo-yo, win one, shit the next.
All if's and buts, but I think that if he had stayed with Suzuki, he could hve been WC with them and a lot more stable, both mentally and placings.

Would he have got the anti wheelie dropping the rear gizmo they all use onto the bike earlier? Since Suzuki have had that their results have improved. Its the same in any business, the team leader/manager is key to the moral and performance of the team. I did the same sort of role for many years so nothing changed, but 2 manager's (across the department) methods of appraisals/performance contract and reward/targets was so stress inducing some people went off sick with stress. 1 person actually quit because of it. I was certainly more stressed out than before, but didnt realise it at the time, neither did my manager, the tosser. Maybe the Yamaha management isn't as skilled as Brivio with regards to personnel management.

Agree with it all. Yamaha sorted out FQ's brain, but not MV's. Some cant be sorted out though.

Bizarre. Vinales still at the circuit, even though the team have removed all reference to him in the garage.

Its the 2019 bike so probably not much given what FM & CC are doing on it. If he does ok (comparatively) then give him another ride later. If there is no promise at all, get someone else on it, not sure who. SRT & Yamaha have a good opportunity now to try out a rider or 2. Brad Binder?

Could the FIM take action here? If Yamaha can prove he potentially could have blown the engine...

Been here before, remember John on that Lucky strike Suzuki 250 at Assen, 1993 i think, riding his balls off on a turd of a bike, lost the plot and blew it up, then ended up at Cagiva.
