Some mates of mine from Farside Sportsbiking are taking part in a 125cc 4 Hour Endurance event today. They're starting off pole position in the second race... Blue YZF125, No. 441, already scuffed on both sides; www.freetechukendurance.com/

After dropping back through the pack off the start, Farside stayed mid-30 placing for the rest of the race!

Looking at some of the bikes we could take a win as they are running KTMs. Just put RC125 stickers on my bike.......
WFT are those strap attachments riders had?

Looks like posh moped racing! And about as fast as the old liquid cooled 2 stroke 50cc class by the looks of it!
Are they tuned bikes or stock?

The majority were basically standard 125cc 4-stroke bikes with an after market can and a race fairing; there are a handful of "superstock" style tuned bikes. The regs are in the series link in my original post. Apparently the Farsiders had a lot of fun and they're contesting the whole series. Mallory Park and Knockhill should allow the bikes to stretch their legs, but most of the series is held at kart tracks.

The whole karting tracks thing would put me off. 3 sisters is bad enough never mind smaller stuff.

The whole karting tracks thing would put me off. 3 sisters is bad enough never mind smaller stuff. That's why I mentioned the power (comparing to the 50cc endurance of old). Our AR50s were putting out about 9 bhp and down the straight at Anglesey (the track with the longest gearing), we reckon we were hitting around 85mph in top. The teams with L/C engines in RS GP frames would come pissing past us. So these 4 stroke 125s are probably on a par with, or a tad slower than the old L/C 50s. At the smaller tracks like Rowrah you won't get so much speed, but still enough to have fun / hurt yourself. Riding round bigger tracks with 14.5 bhp, 140 kgs (plus rider) and a top speed of around 75 - 80 mph is going to get pretty tedious.

Luckily, Mallory Park & Knockhill are as big as it gets for the 4-stroke 125s they're racing in this series! series.
