Possible MM return?... and I see the FIM MGP stewards have re-worded the double long lap penalty ruling to the effect that it must be served at the next race a rider participates in....as opposed to the next race....so looks like HRC's appeal will be successful. Unlikely that they will apply the new rule retrospectively after changing it.

They made the rule. It still means it's better to get a penalty in the main race and serve it in the sprint.

The rules are the rules, if HRC are right, then they have the right to appeal and win. Now, if they consider it to be good for their corporate image or not, only they can decide. I think it stinks that he can get away without a penalty on a technicality.
Someone said in the COTA thread that Quartararo is overriding the Yamaha and it will end badly, well, apparently not if you're Marc Marquéz.
Does this make me a hater? Dunno, I suppose Nippon would say so (where is he anyway, he disapperaed as son as Rossi retired, I knew that would happen!)
Anyway, I hope he's back at Espain (Marc I mean, not Nippon), with so few decent riders and so many crashers we need all the riders possible fighting up front.
I'll go for a Viñales podium. Not venturing beyond that though.

I don't think HRC will give a shit about corporate image, they're not doing anything any other team wouldn't do. The rules applied as per the rulebook at that time (obviously any injury wasn't taken into consideration) means MM should not have to serve any penalty. Good that they've amended to rules to make it clear though, this grey area becomes crystal clear!
I'd like to see Aprilia podium, if MM races I think a top 6 would be the best he could hope for...I think FQ could podium here, Yamaha friendly circuit.

For shits and giggles, I'm going with;

I wonder if he's got a get out clause related to points and results in his contract?
