Finally, after 12 seasons following Camier's runaway win, the BSB organisers admit (actually they didnt) that the showdown system is crap. No longer will riders be able to sit out several rounds, still qualify for the showdown, then wrap it up at 3 meetings at the favoured larger tracks. Or comfortably leading into the showdown and have some bad luck and lose out. The points value per race will increase again for the traditional season finale on the Brands Hatch GP Circuit to: 35-30-27-24-22-20-18-16-14-12-10-8-6-4-2.

Hey I've got this wild idea that reflects the merits of finishing well during the season....it's really wacky but may work....
We just awards points every round and add them up as we go along and the one with the most at the end wins? Too radical?

The "crash and you're out even if your bike is still rideable" rule is also a crock of shit.
Fucking about with the rulebook in a way that no other championship does does nothing but make rods for the rulemaker's backs.
I blame Thatcher.

If it wasn't for Thatcher I'm sure we'd have seen a Welsh MotoGP champion sponsored by coal.
The crash rule is stupid. The fact you can fall off in qualifying and ride back to the pits doesn't make sense.
