Jet Black, Stranglers drummer dead at 84. RIP. He had been ill for quite a while and had stepped away from The Stranglers sometime ago, especially the live the shows. He was a very simple drummer, nothing flash or fancy, but methodical, effective and suited the band perfectly... the heart and soul of The Sranglers. RIP.

Aye I didn't realise he was that old. Same age as my mother ffs.
Early (60s, 70s) rock stars are quite rightly heading down the crem now but the Rolling fucking Stones remain largely intact and continue to fleece unwitting dullards who are prepared to pay ridiculous amounts of money to watch them mime and pretend that they're not fully fucked. 2023 has to be a bumper year for the deadpool.

Once Charlie Watts went that was it really….Keith and Mick will probably live to 100. I’m hoping for one more AC/DC tour, at least they’re 4/5th’s of the band they were in 1980 now that Brian Johnson is back.

Seen them 3 or 4 times since and as the shows have got bigger, the performance has got worse and worse. Last time was at Hampden about 10 years ago and I thought that they were just awful. I was angry and sad because the Apollo gig remains one of the finest I've ever seen of any band and that memory has been tarnished by the pish I've witnessed since.

Missed them during Bon’s time, sadly….They played the old Newcastle Mayfair and were, by all accounts, superb. Last saw them at Arnhem in 2015.

Yeah I missed them with Bon Scott too although a couple of mates from school saw his last Apollo gig. Off the fucking scale by all accounts.

ACDC died when Malcolm passed. They just wouldn't let it lie.
Agree about the Stones. Brilliant in their pomp. Unfortunately that was over 40 years ago.
Funny thing is, they all wanted to play like the classic delta blues artists when they started out but, unlike John Lee Hooker and BB King, couldn't play like them when they got old. The blues boys never lose it.

Even when he chucks a Zeppelin tune into his set it's carefully considered and he's not jumping around like a fanny pretending he's still in his 20s. He could have trousered £millions by touring the Zeppelin reunion 10 years ago but decided his fucking dignity was worth more. Some boy indeed.

They got someone who had played in the band, was part of the Young family and had a similar style to Malcolm…I’ll take that.
