Emma Raducanu wins the US Open at 18, the 1st ever person to win a grand slam event after having to go through the qualifying to get into the draw.
Worth a round of applause. Her opponent has only just turned 19 as well.
I haven't watched tennis, apart from a few Wimbledon games, as even the women's has been a power game of hard serve and few good returns with grunting. Last night it was a better game to watch, and well played C4 for showing it live.
Any sporting achievements at that age?
I was into kayak racing and did the 125 mile Devizes to Westminster, finished 18th out of 80ish, 18 hours 43 minutes. I was quite chuffed at that.
But to play live on TV around the world and give a decent interview after (both of them)? I would have been in pieces.
