Raleigh Grifter, one of the kids on our estate had one...circa 1976-ish.... Yeah, that was the boy at the time, my pals could wheelie those fuckers through the whole village, i had a normal bike and did the bearings in trying to keep that cunt up. Another "want" for me was rare birds eggs, had a good collection of stuff around our area but Eagle, Peregrine, Nightjar, Stone Curlew were other wordly to me, ironically enough when i worked away around the country later in life i still went looking around and ticked off loads of these birds and even a few nests too.

You ever wonder why these birds were rare?

Never gave it a thought when i was an ignorant kid but feel guilty about it now though, at least i only ever took one egg, not like these adults who take whole clutches, and even have multiple whole clutches of the same species.
I've often wondered if the current techy generation of kids have the same interest in stuff like this.

I grew up in a country village and I can understand kids curiosity but I've never got these adult Straw Dogs fuckers who shoot birds of prey etc.
Some of the cunts would be farmers who would use some twisted logic about it all.

As a kid we used to go to the duck shoots and retrieve the downed birds for the shooters. We'd be in ditches, hedges, nettles the lot. I wouldn't dream of it now, but as small kid growing up in the sticks in the 70s it was brilliant. Fuck me we used to have stone fights for fun.

Getting as large a branch as possible and smacking your mates across the back of the legs was a top jape.
