I have just had an interesting conversation with my head office that all of my next months' worth of surveys in Scotland have now been postponed until the foreseeable future.
Now seeing as our work in Jockshire is at least two years behind, as in the rest of the UK, and I am now being reassigned to south of the border to help catch up, this sounds like the big Telecomms companies are worried that Scotland could be on the verge of independence, and the plug is being pulled.
It looks like the UK could really be breaking up.

I think I said this years ago before the first referendum but, to ball park my stance on this, I understand the urge to be independent and, if there is another referendum, I will respect the vote of the Scottish people.
But personally I have always seen myself as British and the union is the core of that. Also I served with a lot of Scots guys who were great lads and there's no getting away from the fact that Scotland's boys have spilled a lot of blood in defense of the Union. So, for me at least, it would be a real shame if Scotland were to leave.

I share your sentiments exactly Spenty, and fear that it would go further than just the breakaway of Scotland but the breakaway., of places like Shetland and even some border counties away from Scotland itself! When I was in Shetland for a few weeks, it was quite clear the Shetlanders would push for their own referendum to become independent and take their oil with them.
A disaster in the making, but if that is what they want, then no-one should stand in their way, even though it would mean a hard border between Scotland and England.

Aren't North Sea oil revenues pretty shit now compared to the past as well? Like massively down? That's not going to run this socialist utopia.

It depends how much they want to drive on the right and have a new currency. What currency though? Using the UK pound without any influence on it just asking for a disaster! And how the Scottish plan to create a new currency with their present deficit? |

It’s looking likely that the Scottish borders will go against the SNP! Does that mean they could want a referendum on independence from Scotland if and SNP referendum goes ahead? Scotland could be getting smaller with the possibility that the Orkneys and the Shetland islands voting against SNP.
The Independence the SNP loons want may not be so clear cut as they think it might be.

Nichola pushing for Independence again! Seems ironic that she is under the spotlight about missing funds. Maybe she is having a bit of a Galtieri moment to try and take the heat off. Especially as there is a strong possiblity of Shetland and the Orkneys fucking her off with their own independence threats, never mind the border regions. Indy2, fucking bring it on and get rid of the Snatzis. |
